Brilliant Launch ‘Install Anywhere’ Home Control Panel

Brilliant, the US-based smart home manufacturer responsible for their lineup of touch control and display panels has unveiled an innovative iteration of its renowned Smart Home Control Panels. This fresh release takes the form of a versatile “install anywhere” plug-in version, enabling homeowners, renters, and expert installers alike to imbue any residence, be it a house or an apartment, with cutting-edge intelligence. Through a user-friendly touchscreen interface, this system governs a plethora of popular smart home devices, extending comprehensive control and automation capabilities.

The initial collection of Smart Home Control Panels from Brilliant, initially introduced in October 2018, was conceptualized for placement within specific light switch spots across residences. These panels were seamlessly integrated into conventional electrical boxes, requiring a neutral and ground wire connection. This installation approach ensured a swift, effortless, and budget-friendly means for the majority to incorporate a control system into their homes. However, until this point, there remained a segment unable to partake in the exceptional Brilliant smart home encounter, including:

People who live in older homes with no neutral or ground wires;
Apartment residents who can’t access their wiring;
People uncomfortable with home wiring; and
Professional installers and security dealers not licensed to perform electrical installations.

Features:

EASY SMART HOME CONTROL FOR EVERYONE: Brilliant touchscreen panels with built-in Alexa make it easy for everyone at home to control popular smart devices, lighting, cameras, locks, thermostats, intercom, scenes and more by simply replacing a light switch.
INSTALLS ON ANY WALL & DOESN’T REQUIRE NEUTRAL WIRE — This Brilliant Plug-in Panel flush mounts to any wall and plugs into any outlet. Includes a 5″ LCD touchscreen, built-in camera with privacy shutter, and built-in motion sensor.
SMART LIGHTING: Turn regular lights into smart lights (supports LED, CFL, halogen, incandescent bulbs, dimmable, multiway). Control Hue, LIFX, and Kasa TP-Link smart bulbs. Control lights using touch, voice, built-in motion detection, scenes or an app.

ELIMINATE VOICE ASSISTANT CLUTTER FROM COUNTERTOPS: Put Amazon Alexa in your walls and enjoy the convenience of built-in clutter-free voice control with audio and visual responses from a touchscreen panel on your wall.

With a price tag of US$399, the freshly introduced Plug-In Home Control Panel opens the doors for everyone to embrace the exceptional Brilliant experience. This aligns with Brilliant’s overarching goal of transforming all residences into effortlessly navigable smart spaces.

The Plug-In Panel offers the flexibility of wall mounting via screws and arrives complete with a power cable and adapter, effortlessly plugging into any available power outlet. The cable can either be discreetly channelled along the wall’s surface or concealed through an in-wall setup.

The Brilliant Smart Home Control Plug-In Panel is available for US$399 at www.brilliant.tech and Amazon. Brilliant Wired Control Panels, Smart Dimmer Switches, and Smart Plugs are available at www.brilliant.tech, Amazon, Best Buy, and Home Depot. Brilliant products are also available for purchase by licensed contractors and installers at ADI Global Distribution and other regional distributors. The Brilliant Smart Home Control Plug-In Panel will be available for purchase at ADI by October 2023.

The only part that isn’t so clear is how it works within HomeKit. It’s probably safe to assume that the wireless controls are exposed to HomeKit, which would allow you to control devices of your choice, but we’ll clarify that once we know more.
