Budget-friendly smart home brand Zemismart has today released two new wall switches for the North American market. These new smart switches use Matter over WiFi, so no Thread Border Router is required, only a Matter Controller. If you also have the ZemiSmart M1 bridge, you can also add these switches to the Tuya ecosystem, if you prefer.
The Switch comes in two models, a single push button version, and a double push button option, similar to the popular Aqara switches. These only work with a neutral, however, so if your home doesn’t have a neutral wire, these are not going to be suitable for you.
Although these aren’t the only switches Zemismart has released for the US market, they are the first that comply with standard Decora style wall plates. These switches come with their own plates as standard.
One thing that sets these switches apart from say the Aqara switches, is that these can be used in a Three-way configuration, allowing two smart switches to control one set of lights. Typical examples of this kind of set up would be switches at the top and bottom of a staircase, where both switches control one light or lights.
You can order these switches from Zemismart’s own online store today, starting from just US$21.20 (plus shipping) for the single switch, as well as two, three, or four-gang wall plates for them.
