AirPlay 2 Adaptor From Eve Surfaces on FCC

Eve Systems is widely known for its smart home products and has been making waves lately with updates for Matter compatibility. This now allows the company to access platforms beyond Apple HomeKit. And now, with the acquisition of  Eve Systems by ABB, it seems like the company wants to expand its portfolio further.

A discovery on the FCC website all but confirms this; our colleagues from have revealed a new product entitled Eve Play. It appears to be an audio receiver designed to provide a selection of audio devices smart, featuring a selection of inputs and outputs, including WLAN, LAN, coax, optical, and analogue. HomeKit integration also seems to be planned:

Eve Play is an easy-to-use plug-and-play interface compatible with Apple AirPlay 2. It enables almost limitless audio streaming and guarantees an extraordinary listening experience for discerning audiophiles. Connected to an amplifier, soundbar or powered speakers, Eve Play delivers impressive sound quality. With its 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi capabilities, an Ethernet port and three audio outputs, Eve Play easily integrates into various setups.

However, it remains to be seen whether the product will be launched in a timely manner, given the recent acquisition by ABB. Either way, it’s an interesting move by Eve Systems that could expand users’ smart home experience.
