Aqara today announced the widespread availability of its latest Camera E1. This camera caters to budget-conscious consumers seeking premium features from Aqara’s cameras, such as seamless compatibility with third-party platforms and versatile storage options, all without the need for an additional Aqara hub. Harnessing the power of Wi-Fi 6 technology, the Camera E1 ensures superior connectivity and video quality. You can now find it on the Aqara Amazon brand stores throughout North America (US, Canada) and Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, UK), as well as through selected Aqara retailers globally.

For a limited period, you can enjoy the Camera E1 at 20% off using the following codes;

US/CA – USE1CAMERA
EU/UK – CAMERAE1EU

Equipped with a 2K sensor, a wide-angle f/2.0 lens, Pan/Tilt functionality, and concealed infrared night vision. Through the Aqara Home app, users can control the E1 camera to automatically swivel to a predefined angle, such as the front door, triggered by a corresponding sensor, enhancing overall security awareness. The camera’s built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU) empowers advanced features like person and sound detection, enabling focused monitoring of crucial events. Motion events can be selectively filtered, and users receive alerts when a person or a specified sound (e.g., barking, or crying) is detected. This feature will be available at a later date via an update. Notably, both person and sound detection operate locally on the device, ensuring heightened privacy and independence from cloud services and Internet connections.

With the use of Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) technology, the Camera E1 provides high-speed data transfer and upgraded performance, even in crowded network environments. This offers a seamless live-view experience with minimised latency. Prioritising security, the camera supports WPA3 to fortify user data protection. Additionally, it incorporates Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity for a streamlined pairing process. The Aqara Home’s innovative MagicPair feature prompts users to bind new devices when they access the app.

Engineered for widespread compatibility, the Camera E1 integrates with major smart home platforms like Apple Home, Alexa, and Google Home. Similar to other Aqara camera models, the E1 camera supports Apple’s end-to-end encrypted HomeKit Secure Video. Storage flexibility is a primary feature, with the camera supporting encrypted cloud storage through Aqara or iCloud platforms, or local storage on a microSD card (up to 512 GB), which can also be backed up to NAS storage.

As an indoor camera prioritising user privacy, the E1 introduces a privacy mode that deactivates the camera and redirects the lens away from the activity zone. Users also have the option to disable audio recording for added peace of mind. These privacy settings can be manually activated through the Aqara Home app or integrated into various automations with other Aqara devices.
